Overtourism is an issue among many destinations

Overtourism had become an issue for several destinations around the globe, cities like Barcelona in our Catalonia is suffering for years the effects linked to the excessive arrivals from all over the world.

Reading experts considerations on solutions to this issue:

- Community-led tourism is the antidote to overtourism
- Alternatives that protect wildlife needed, not overwhelm it.
- There is an opp to redefine what we mean by "tourism". Seeing what everyone else has seen? Or have the experience that's your own?
- Governments need to embrace the only real solution to overtourism: Degrowing tourism.
- Low-volume, high-value tourism where guests leave with unforgettable memories.
- The most important thing to do is to research and listen to what local people want.
- "Don't wait until it breaks. What we choose to respect today decides what's left to love tomorrow".
- "Selfie parks balance tourist expectations with preservation needs, reducing pressure on iconic sites"
- AI could offer dynamic incentives to travellers who choose those less crowded options"
- Why queue for overpriced cocktails when authentic experiences await and can benefit emerging economies?
- The root of the issue ultimately stems for a lack of governance.
- We need not start with perfection-rather a continuous honing.
