Human Resources in Vietnam is finding issues not being able to provide enough manpower to several industries, from factories, to tourism-hospitality among many others.

Due to the complexities of the labor market, many companies in Vietnam rely primarily on outsourced providers when it comes to HR, particularly for advice related to recruitment, training, and payroll. In fact, many multinationals report that they would like to outsource more of their operational HR practices to a regional shared services function. But this option is not the solution to the problem if not only a temporary patch.

Problems encountered as follows:

+ Lack of English skills (basic level detected but no fluency required to conduct business deals)
+ Lack of technical skills (limited experience & acknowledgement)
+ Reduced interest on moving to remote areas
+ City jobs attract over countryside positions

Vietnam high turnover of personnel is a result of a no-care on career development and benefits in the past years. Even higher salaries and benefits are offered, money matter is not the only factor in what makes Vietnamese employees stay longer at a company.

The result of an "old-school system" of education, a traditional teaching methodology and a no mid-long term vision on trainings or vocational careers, all above issues had been reported to Vietnamese related ministries involved during many years - no action was taken - and results on no manpower available are now the direct consequence.

Solutions to the issue, always glad to add for consideration: even salary increases are a key incentive, better health insurance, allowances for food & transport, better options for workers commuting to/from the company or to family destination if remote business (islands, highlands,...).
On-site living facilities that are suitable for employees must be provided (sports facilities, daycare, and other entertainment options as incentives). Performance-based incentives can also be offered and ensure that employees remain productive and benefits share between owning/managing company if results are achieved are important.

The game has changed, companies which did not care on their employees career path and remuneration are suffering consequences today as no-one applies for their vacancies now.
Market is in employee's hands, not in employers anymore.

As usual your comments and opinions on the topic highly appreciated, we are all aiming to add value and solve the topic.
