Vietnamese increase numbers of visa exempted countries

Short tourism update for Vietnam which some of you might find interesting. There are three new countries (of a total of 27) enjoying visa exemption: citizens of Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic allowed to temporary stay of up to 45 days from the date of arrival in Vietnam (validity from March to December 2025). Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioning: “Vietnam's policy is to further facilitate the entry, exit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam, thereby contributing to the development of the tourism industry in particular and the country’s socio-economic growth in general”. Reciprocity and bilateral agreements on discussion, which may optimise tourism arrivals from/to Vietnam in the coming future.  

Better sustainable procedures for Vietnam tourism businesses

The Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) members pledge to eliminate single use plastics and integrate plastic waste reduction policies by 2030. Tourism is a significant contributor to implement sustainability and the commitment to achieve a plastic-free sector is on the table. One of the most reported considerations by visitors to Vietnam is the waste and plastic miss use in several locations. Despite several campaigns in the past, little progress had been observed and destinations like Ha Long bay, Phu Quoc island or Nha Trang suffering waste serious consequences, even in locations like Hoi An or Ninh Binh province there were successful waste reduction programs.
